The Yuchengco Centre has earned WiredScore Platinum and SmartScore Gold certifications, becoming the first building in the Philippines to be dual-certified.

The Yuchengco Centre has become the first building in the Philippines to earn SmartScore certification, the global standard for smart building technology. Developed by House of Investments, Inc., the investment holding company of the Yuchengco Group, together with Japan's Sojitz Corporation, the office tower achieved SmartScore Gold alongside WiredScore Platinum, making it the country's first dual-certified building.

"This achievement is a testament to our vision of shaping the future through innovation, leadership, and an enduring commitment to excellence." — Lorenzo V. Tan, President and CEO of House of Investments, Inc.

The Yuchengco Centre stands in the Makati Central Business District, the country's premier financial hub, on Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue (Buendia), close to Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and the district's hotels, hospitals and malls. The location gives occupiers a prominent address along one of Makati's main thoroughfares, with multiple public transport options at its doorstep.

SmartScore, from global certification company WiredScore, recognizes buildings that use technology to deliver better experiences for occupiers, run more efficiently, and stay sustainable and resilient. Buildings earn it through rigorous third-party assessment, and SmartScore-certified buildings now stand in more than 70 cities worldwide. A Gold rating marks a high level of innovation in how a building uses technology and processes.

"Achieving the Philippines' first SmartScore certification is a significant moment, both for The Yuchengco Centre and for the country's office market. WiredScore and SmartScore ratings are earned through rigorous, independent assessment, and this result reflects a clear vision from its owners to build around how people will actually use the space, not just how it looks on paper. From its digital infrastructure to the technology that shapes the occupier experience day to day, this is a building designed with the next twenty years in mind. We expect it to set the pace for landlords across the Philippines as digital performance becomes central to attracting and keeping quality tenants." — Queenie Tang, Head of Southeast Asia at WiredScore

Inside the tower, that technology shows up across the workday: mobile building access, smart elevators that cut wait times, indoor air-quality monitoring, and energy sub-metering that helps occupiers understand and manage consumption.

The building's smart credentials rest on a strong digital foundation. Its WiredScore Platinum rating, the highest level for digital connectivity, makes it one of five Platinum buildings in Manila, with fiber from four internet providers and strong Globe and Smart mobile coverage.

For the companies that work in The Yuchengco Centre, the two certifications translate into tangible, independently verified benefits:

Business continuity. Fiber from multiple providers, fault-tolerant infrastructure, and generators with power storage keep connectivity running through outages, so operations are not interrupted.
Time saved every day. Mobile building access, digital visitor check-in and smart elevators that use occupancy data shorten the journey from the street to the desk for employees and guests alike.
Healthier, more comfortable workspaces. Indoor air quality is monitored continuously, and the building's environment adjusts to real-time occupancy to keep spaces comfortable and productive.
Lower operating costs. Energy and water sub-metering show occupiers exactly what they consume, while fault detection and diagnosis catches equipment issues before they fail, helping keep maintenance and service charges under control.
Support for sustainability goals. Detailed consumption data and operational carbon reporting help occupiers track and reduce their footprint and report on their ESG commitments.
Safety and security. Monitored access points flag unauthorized entry attempts, and real-time alerts guide occupants in an emergency.
Ready for what comes next. Spare capacity in cable pathways, risers and telecom rooms, plus dedicated rooftop space for wireless systems, lets the building adopt new technologies as they emerge.

Because both ratings follow rigorous third-party assessment against global standards, they also give occupiers an objective way to compare the building with buildings in other markets, not only in Manila.

For businesses looking to establish themselves in the Makati Central Business District, one of the Philippines' largest business districts, the certifications set The Yuchengco Centre apart. Few buildings can show this level of independently verified performance. WiredScore Platinum is the highest of the rating's four levels and is held by only five buildings in Manila, and no building in the Philippines had earned SmartScore certification before The Yuchengco Centre. Both ratings are awarded only after rigorous third-party assessment against global criteria.

For companies deciding where to base their teams, that means a Makati address backed by proven connectivity, smart building technology and the resilience to support long-term growth.

"Being the first building in the Philippines to earn both WiredScore Platinum and SmartScore Gold sets a new benchmark for what businesses should expect from an office in the Makati CBD. Companies today need more than a good address. They need proven connectivity, smart systems and the resilience to keep operating no matter what. We congratulate House of Investments and Sojitz on this milestone, and we are proud to represent The Yuchengco Centre." — Phillip Añonuevo, Co-founder and Executive Director of Commercial Leasing at Leechiu Property Consultants
