Ceilings stay in place. Glass stays securely within its frames.

Furniture and equipment are also more likely to remain stable. In conventional buildings subjected to strong shaking, filing cabinets can topple, shelving may collapse, and unsecured equipment can become hazardous. Inside Bamberton Center, reduced floor movement helps keep computers on desks, objects on shelves, and evacuation pathways clear.

Critical building systems, including power, water, and elevators are also designed to remain operational. Conventional buildings often experience fires, flooding, or power outages after major earthquakes due to ruptured pipes and damaged conduits.
